About Me
Born in Istanbul. Graduated with honors from the Psychology (English) undergraduate program in 2019.
During her undergraduate studies, from 2016-2018, she participated in internship and supervision groups at the Social Psychiatry Department of Istanbul Çapa Medical Faculty under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Doğan Şahin. During the internship, she attended sessions as an observer in both inpatient and outpatient services. In addition to the psychiatry service, she also observed sessions conducted by Öget Öktem Tanör in the Clinical Neuropsychology Department of the same hospital.
In her third year of undergraduate studies, she completed a summer internship in London. She participated in research conducted at the Experimental Psychology Laboratory at Queen Mary University of London. She conducted research on providing better psychotherapy services to refugees and improving existing services; she joined a team conducting meta-analysis studies on psychotherapy services provided over the phone.
After graduation, she was accepted as a visiting researcher at the Zurich University Psychiatric Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland. She participated in ongoing research at the university and joined the review team working on the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She participated as an observer and practitioner in sessions conducted in Turkish and English at the Psychiatric Hospital in collaboration with the university. She attended weekly supervision sessions.
Upon returning to Turkey, she was accepted into the "Beck-Oriented Cognitive Therapy and Clinical Skills Development Program" provided by Dr. Emel Stroup within CBTiSTANBUL for one year. During her time as Dr. Emel Stroup's assistant, she successfully completed the "Cognitive Therapy Workshop Certificate Program." Throughout the program, she participated in supervision and training provided by Dr. Emel Stroup, developing her clinical knowledge and skills.
In 2021, she was accepted into the Integrated Doctorate Program in Clinical Psychology at Ibn Haldun University with an academic excellence scholarship and continues her doctoral studies. During her doctoral education, she works as a research and teaching assistant at the university.
In psychotherapy, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and, for trauma-focused approaches, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) techniques.
She became interested in the concept of 'Resilience' (Dayanıklılık) that she first heard about during her undergraduate internship and conducts research and reading on trauma and psychological resilience.
She has advanced English proficiency and intermediate proficiency in Arabic and German.
